YouTube video cutter. Keep the range you need.
Cut a YouTube video online by pasting its link, choosing start and end timestamps, and exporting the selected section as MP4 or MOV. Start free with 2 minutes of normal clips per UTC day. Each export can be up to 120 seconds. Use only videos you own or have permission to use.
Cut, trim, clip or crop?
Cut and trim both mean choosing which time range to keep here. A clip is the resulting excerpt. Cropping changes which part of the picture is visible. Manual cutting keeps the source framing; use AI clips and the vertical editor when you also need a 9:16 crop.
For example, start at 01:10 and end at 01:40 to keep a 30-second section. That uses 30 seconds of your normal daily allowance. The normal extraction path requests the range without downloading the full video first, although nearby segments may be needed.
For the exact controls, follow the timestamp cutting walkthrough. For framing, see the vertical Shorts workflow.
Cut a video in three steps
Open the workspace to use the controls described below.
- Paste a supported YouTube watch, youtu.be or Shorts URL and choose Manual clip. Load the video.
- Set the start and end time. Preview the opening and ending; the range must be 120 seconds or shorter.
- Choose MP4 or MOV, quality and With sound or No sound. Start the export and save the file when it is ready.
Use Clipyt's YouTube clipper to cut or trim the range described here.
If a cut fails
Private, age-restricted, members-only, region-blocked and removed videos may be unavailable. Clipyt does not bypass access controls. Try a permitted public source, another quality or a slightly different boundary. In the standard configuration, failed partial extraction produces an error instead of silently downloading the full source.
Guest exports allow 2 minutes per UTC day; a Google account allows 10 minutes. Free quality is up to 1080p. Paid plans keep the same 120-second cap. MP4 and MOV are containers, not quality upgrades, and manual cuts do not add captions.
Choose your next output using the MP4 and MOV comparison, or follow the silent-video export guide.
Common questions
Can I cut a YouTube video without signing up?
Yes. Guests get 2 minutes of normal clips per UTC day without an account, with exports up to 120 seconds and 1080p.
Does the cutter also crop the picture?
Manual exports keep source framing. The AI editor can crop and reframe a selected moment to vertical 9:16.
Can I cut a video with no sound?
Yes. Choose No sound in the export controls. Muting the preview alone does not mute the downloaded file.
Can I join several cuts?
Clipyt exports one selected range at a time. Join separate downloaded files in a video editor if your project needs a compilation.
