How to clip a YouTube video without sound

Choose the moment first

Paste a YouTube video URL and load the preview. For a Short, switch to Shorts mode before loading its URL. Use the start and end controls to mark the section you need, then play that range once to check its boundaries.

A silent clip works well when you need a visual demonstration or plan to edit audio separately. Make sure the action is understandable without dialogue. Clipyt does not generate captions or automatically replace the original sound with music.

Use No sound in the export controls

Under Sound, select No sound. Leave With sound selected when you want the source audio included. This is an export setting: the volume or mute button inside YouTube's preview only affects what you hear while watching.

Choose MP4 or MOV, select an available quality and start the download. Wait for the ready state, save the file, then play it outside the browser. Confirm there is no audio and that the opening and ending still include the moment you selected.

What a muted export does not change

Removing sound does not raise the resolution or extend the plan limit. Guests have 3 clips per UTC day and Google accounts have 10, with clips up to 2 minutes and 720p. Pro enables best-available quality and has no daily clip count; its standard maximum range is 30 minutes.

A silent copy still needs the same permission to download and use the source material. No sound is not an audio-only export, a copyright clearance or automatic permission to republish someone else's video. For voiceovers, captions or a different aspect ratio, open the finished clip in your editor.
