CLIPYT

Turn a long YouTube video into vertical Shorts.

Start with a YouTube video you own or have permission to use. Clipyt AI clips reads available captions and ranks short spoken moments. Review a suggestion, trim within it, reframe to 9:16 and add burned-in captions before rendering. Download the file for Shorts, Reels or TikTok, or post to your connected YouTube channel on Ultimate.

Try AI clips

Choose manual timestamps or AI suggestions

Manual clip works when you already know the moment or the action is mostly visual. It keeps source framing and does not add captions. AI clips is useful for speech-led videos such as interviews and explainers, where the transcript contains the point you want to make.

The ranking considers the opening, completeness, payoff and context. It is caption-based, not a prediction of views. Review the original context before choosing a moment, especially if an excerpt changes what a speaker appears to mean.

Read how AI moment ranking works, or use manual timestamp cutting when you already know the range.

Make a captioned vertical clip

The source can be long; the output is a selected moment, not a condensed copy of the whole video.

  1. Open the workspace, choose AI clips and load a permitted YouTube watch or Shorts URL with usable captions.
  2. Run the review and open a suggestion. Check the beginning, ending and context before accepting it.
  3. Review the automatic edit, adjust zoom and position, correct captions and choose sound, format and resolution.
  4. Render the final 9:16 file. Download it, or use Post to YouTube on Ultimate after connecting your own channel.

Limits and checks before you publish

AI Review covers up to one hour of captions and returns a shortlist when suitable moments are found. Suggestions are usually 8–35 seconds, and the editor trims within the selected moment. Every export has a 120-second maximum; an AI suggestion is not a way to select an arbitrary two-minute vertical edit.

Missing or inaccurate captions can make a good moment difficult to find. Use manual clipping for a precise visual range, or another editor if you need a longer vertical edit, joined clips, replacement music, landscape output or local-file uploads. Clipyt accepts YouTube links only.

Check that faces, demonstrations and captions remain readable on a phone. Rendered captions are burned into the picture and cannot be toggled off by the viewer. Downloading does not automatically publish the clip; Ultimate upload requires your action and channel authorization.

Common questions

Can I upload a local podcast file?

No. Clipyt starts from supported YouTube video or Shorts links, not local-file or multi-source uploads.

Does the AI choose a guaranteed viral moment?

No. It ranks captioned passages for editorial signals. You choose the edit, and audience performance is not guaranteed.

Can I change the vertical crop?

Yes. Open an AI suggestion and adjust zoom and position in the 9:16 editor. Check faces and on-screen text before rendering.

Will Clipyt post to TikTok or Reels for me?

Clipyt exports a vertical file you can upload yourself. Direct posting is available only to a connected YouTube channel on Ultimate.
